Choi Ji-hoon started as the second hitter and center fielder in the first game of the double header against the LG Twins in the 2023 Professional Baseball KBO League held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on the 17th.

The scene in question occurred in the bottom of the sixth inning. With 2 outs and 1st base, Park Dong-won’s batted ball headed to an ambiguous area between the 2nd baseman, center fielder, and right fielder. Choi Ji-hoon, who was chasing this, collided with second baseman Kim Seong-hyun’s face and chin. Choi Ji-hoon, who collapsed complaining of pain, was eventually replaced by Ha Jae-hoon.

Afterwards, Choi Ji-hoon went to the hospital for a checkup and was excluded from the starting lineup for the second game of the double header.

An SSG official said, “As a result of Choi Ji-hoon’s examination, he was found to have temporomandibular joint muscle stiffness and bruising,” adding, “It seems difficult for him to participate in today’s game. “He plans to continuously check his condition,” he explained.

Meanwhile, SSG, who fell 3-8 in the first game of the double header, is also far behind at 3-9 as of the top of the 7th inning in the second game of the double header.
